Emotion: connection, stability. 

Earth. Perhaps the strongest element that comes to mind when thinking of Africa. The red African soil, but also the importance of land in African lives. The land of ancestors is a source of connection among families and a calling for a place to return to for many people living in Africa. Earth is about roots and stability, and nowhere else is the power of this element as strong as it is across the African continent.
